Politicians just don't face serious issues and address them squarely anymore. The entire political realm in America is one obfuscatory outrage nested within another, like so many idiotic Russian dolls; no one even bothers to dig deeper because everyone knows what an empty, wasted effort it is.

Presented for your approval: Senator Barack Obama, who, unlike most, if not all, of his fellow senators, can speak substantively, directly, and maintain a position influenced by no K-Street horse-whisperers, and, according to some, really against his own personal interests as a candidate for the US presidency.

Decide for yourselves if you want four more years of the same old same old -- whether it's dressed as a man or a woman -- or whether you'd like a little less Macchiavelli-meets-Rove and a little more of the America you once believed in.
